1. What inspired you to start your journey as an artist?

アーティストとして活動を始めたきっかけを教えてください。

In 1998, I was diagnosed with a rare and life-threatening disease called idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy. Facing my mortality, I wanted to leave a mark of my existence. I pressed the soles of my shoes into clay to create heart-shaped imprints — that became the starting point of my “Love Guerrilla” art.

1998年に難病「突発性拡張型心筋症」を発症し、余命を告げられた経験が原点です。限りある命の中で「自分の生きた証」を残したいと思い、靴の裏を石粉粘土に押しつけてハートの作品を作り始めました。その体験が、現在のラブゲリラ活動につながっています。

2. What is the meaning behind “Heart Drop” and “Love Guerrilla”?

「Heart Drop」や「ラブゲリラ」という表現に込められた思いとは何ですか？

“Heart Drop” expresses my wish to gently drop kindness and love into everyday life — like drops falling from the heart.“Love Guerrilla” is about drawing water hearts on streets and in parks — small surprises for those who notice. It’s a playful, guerrilla-style act of spreading love signs in society.

「Heart Drop」は心からこぼれるしずくのように、優しさや愛を日常に落としていきたいという願いを込めています。

「ラブゲリラ」は、路上や公園に水でハートを描き、気づいた人だけがちょっぴり幸せになれる仕掛けです。社会に愛のサインをゲリラ的に届ける、遊び心のある活動です。

3. Your work feels deeply connected to the streets. What influence does the street have on you?

あなたの作品はストリートと深くつながっているように感じますが、どんな影響を受けていますか？

The street is an open and free canvas for everyone. By bringing art outside museums and galleries, I can create “real encounters” with people by chance. The rhythm of the city and the heartbeat of its people constantly inspire my work.

ストリートは、誰にでも開かれた自由なキャンバスです。美術館やギャラリーではなく、日常の空間にアートを広げることで、偶然そこに居合わせた人との「生の出会い」が生まれます。都市のリズムや人々の鼓動が、作品に影響を与えています。

4. What themes or messages are most important in your creative process?

制作をする上で一番大切にしているテーマやメッセージは何ですか？

Love, compassion, and gratitude. Through my art, I want people to feel that “even if we pass each other by, we are still connected somehow.” I believe small hearts can spread smiles and hope across society.

愛、思いやり、感謝です。作品を通して「人はすれ違っても、どこかでつながっている」と感じてもらいたい。小さなハートが、社会に笑顔や希望を広げていくことを信じています。

5. How do your personal experiences influence your work?

ご自身の体験やバックグラウンドは、どのように作品に反映されていますか？

My illness made me realize how fragile and precious life is — that feeling lives inside each heart I create. The “shoeprint hearts” represent my life’s journey and the beauty of every person’s unique path.

病気を通じて、命の儚さや尊さを強く実感しました。その視点がハートの形に込められています。また、歩んできた人生そのものを「靴跡のハート」として刻み、誰もが持つ軌跡の尊さを表現しています。

6. Could you share a memorable episode or encounter from your work?

印象に残っている制作エピソードや出会いがあれば教えてください。

During the Noto Peninsula earthquake, I painted 

”Cheer up Noto ♡♡ Peninsula“

and a local smiled when they saw it. That moment made me realize art truly has the power to heal.Once, a traveler from abroad said:

“The best art I’ve seen in Tokyo!”

“The world needs you.”“It’s a miracle to see such gentle expression on the street.”

These words still stay with me.

能登半島地震のときに「がんばれ能登♡♡」と描いたら、被災された方が笑顔を見せてくれました。その瞬間、アートは誰かを励ます力を持っていると確信しました。また、路上で出会った海外からの旅人が次のように言ってくれました。

「東京で見た最高のアートだ！」「世界は貴方を必要としている」「こんなに優しい表現を路上で見られるなんて、奇跡だよ」

7. What kind of emotions or realizations do you want to evoke through your art?

アートを通して、人々にどんな感情や気づきを届けたいですか？

Awareness — that love exists right here. When people notice a small heart on the sidewalk, they momentarily soften. I want to bring that feeling of lightness and kindness into everyday life.

「気づき」です。道端の小さなハートに気づいた瞬間、人は少し優しい気持ちになれる。見過ごしがちな日常に「愛はここにある」と知らせたい。アートを通じて、心が軽くなる体験を届けたいです。

8. What challenges have you faced, and how did you overcome them?

活動を続ける中で直面した課題や困難は何で、それをどう乗り越えてきましたか？

Funding and social understanding have been challenges. But the joy of seeing one person smile because of a single heart kept me going. By continuing, I’ve found supporters and collaborators who share the same belief.

資金や理解されにくさが大きな課題でした。でも「一つのハートが誰かを笑顔にする」という実感が力になりました。困難の中でも描き続けることで、活動を支えてくれる仲間や共感者が少しずつ増えてきました。

9. What’s next for Love Guerrilla?

今後挑戦したい表現やプロジェクトについて教えてください。

I dream of creating a public art installation — a permanent heart in the cityscape, connecting people around the world through love. I also plan to expand “Love Guerrilla” to New York and beyond, spreading smiles globally.

ハートのパブリックアートを作りたいと考えています。街の風景に永続的なハートを刻み、世界中の人と「愛でつながる街」をつくりたい。また、ニューヨークなど海外でもラブゲリラを展開し、グローバルに笑顔を広げたいです。

10. Finally, what words or motto do you live by?

最後に、あなたの座右の銘や大切にしている言葉を教えてください。

“Art is the water of the soul.”And my mission is to “fill the world with love — spreading hope, dreams, and smiles.”

「Art is the water of the soul.（アートは魂を潤す水）」そして「この世界を愛で一杯にして、希望と夢と笑顔を広めたい」。この言葉を胸に活動を続けています。

● Concept

My work as 110king (Itokin) is not just art, nor is it simply performance.

It is a prayer born to reach someone’s heart — an art of compassion.

With nothing more than bottled water, I draw hearts on the streets.They are symbols of invisible kindness, messages for strangers passing by.

In nameless places, to nameless people, I quietly deliver love.And when love fills the air, the hearts disappear without a trace.

But they are not “invisible graffiti.”They are traces of tenderness that stay deep in the heart.

What I draw are the footprints of life — the connection between myself, society, and people.

This journey of love began the day I faced my illness.Now, with the message of “Stay strong, Noto”,the movement is spreading across Japan and out into the world.

When someone notices and smiles, that alone gives meaning to everything I do.

Art that makes you want to support it — that’s because true love lives within it.

私、110king（いときん）の活動は、

ただのアートでも、ただのパフォーマンスでもありません。

これは、“誰かの心に届くため”に生まれた祈りのアートです。

ペットボトルの水だけで、路上に描かれるハート。

それは「見えない優しさ」「通りすがりの誰かへのメッセージ」。

名もなき場所で、名もなき誰かに、そっと届ける。

愛が満ちたら、跡形もなく消えていく。

でも、それは「見えない落書き」なんかじゃない。

心の奥に残る、“優しさの痕跡”です。

いときんが描いているのは、

自分の命と、社会と、人とのつながりの軌跡。

病と向き合ったあの日から始まった、愛を刻む旅。

今では「がんばれ能登」の想いも込めて、

日本全国、そして世界へと広がろうとしています。

誰かが気づいたとき、ふっと笑顔になる。それだけで、この活動は意味を持つのです。
